Funded by the Welsh Government, the research on which this report is based set out to examine the situation and experience of international migrant workers in two regions of Wales using statistical, survey and interview analysis. The research was approached through seven objectives that focused on different aspects of migration. The main findings are classified under:

• Trends in international migration to rural Wales and the South Wales Valleys
• Labour migration from new EU member states in the wider context of international migration
• Pressures and implications from international migration on public services
• The economic contribution of international migrants
• Integration of international migrants with local communities
